Tanzen steht im Iran unter Strafe. Für den Jungen Afshin Ghaffarian ist das Verbot jedoch nur schwer zu befolgen – zu groß ist seine Faszination für den Tanz. Erst als Student kommt Afshin seinem Traum näher: In Teheran hat er über einen gehackten Internetaccount unbegrenzten Zugang zu YouTube-Videos, mit deren Hilfe er sich selbst das Tanzen beibringt. Seine Inspirationen reichen von Michael Jacksons Moonwalk bis zum Tanztheater von Pina Bausch. In einigen liberalen Mitstudenten findet Afshin Gleichgesinnte, mit denen er schließlich eine Untergrund-Tanzgruppe gründet. Sie proben heimlich, in einem abgelegenen Versteck, das für sie zu einem kleinen Raum der Hoffnung und Freiheit inmitten der Verbote wird. So kommt Afshin auch seiner geheimnisvollen Partnerin Elaheh näher, mit der ihn bald mehr als nur die Liebe zum Tanz verbindet…Filmdetails
